Area of an Ellipse Calculator
You have to think about calculating the area of an ellipse as being very similar to
calculating the area of a circle. We know the area of a circle is Pi times the radius squared.
An ellipse has two different "radius", one from its center to its long axis and the other
from its center to its short axis. So instead of squaring the radius, we multiply the long
axis by the short axis.
All length units entered should be of the same measurement system, i.e. all metric or all
English, and of the same base i.e. all centimeters or all meters, or all inches or all feet.
Then the area output will those same units squared.
