Area of Trapezoid Calculator
A trapezoid is a 4sided plane shape (a quadrilateral) that has two sides that are parallel.
The longest parallel side is usually labeled B (for Base). The shortest parallel side is
usually labeled b (for base). To calculate the area, you don't need to know the length of
the nonparallel sides, but you do need to know the height.
The height is the length of a perpendicular line from one parallel side to the other
parallel side. See the diagram above. The area of the trapezoid would be calculated using
the formula A = (B+b)h/2.
