Area of a Regular Hexagon Calculator
A hexagon is a polygon that has six straight sides and six angles. A regular hexagon has six
equal sides and six equal angles. To calculate the area of a regular hexagon, treat it like six equilateral triangles.
Since a regular hexagon is comprised of six equilateral triangles, the formula for finding the area
of a regular hexagon is derived from the formula of finding the area of an equilateral triangle.
The formula for finding the area of a regular hexagon if you know the side length is:
Area = (3 * sqrt(3) * S2) / 2
The measurement system units of the result are the same as the measurement system that you use
when entering the side lenght, i.e. metric or English, and of the same base i.e. all centimeters
or all meters, or all inches or all feet. Then the area output will those same units squared.
