The Control Panel is a window that contains shortcuts to applications that control almost everything about how Windows appearance and operation. It has shortcuts to Administrative applications, Security and Mainttenance applications, Troubleshooting Tools, and many more.
There are several ways to access the Control Panel. The quickest way would be to create a desktop shortcut. To create Desktop shortcut to Control Panel:
1. Right-click on a blank area on the desktop, and in the menu that appears, choose New | Shortcut.
2. In the Create Shortcut dialog box that appears, in the Type the location of the item: text box, type:
%windir%\system32\control.exe
3. Click on the [Next] button, and in the next page of the dialog box, in the Type a name for this shortcut
text box, change control.exe to Control Panel.
4. Click on the [Finish] button.
A shortcut to Control Panel will appear on your desktop. Now you can quickly access the utilities in the Control Panel by clicking on the shortcut.
