jobs on Elance, and there have been more than 2,000 new jobs posted in the last 30 days. PHP
development is holding steady in the top position.
2. Article Writing: Article writers have earned more than $460,000 in the last six months,
and more than 1,400 new jobs were posted in the last 30 days. Article writing is trending upward.
3. MySQL development: Database developers are cashing in at Elance, taking home $1.2 million
dollars in the last six months, with 1,300 new jobs posted in the last 30 days.
4. HTML coding: HTML coders made just under $300,000 in the last six months, with 1,782 new
jobs posted in the last 30 days. Demand is pretty steady for freelancers with a passion for HTML.
5. CSS coding: If CSS is more your style, never fear. CSS is on an upward trend, and the
freelance CSS experts at Elance made over $130,000 in the last six months. More than 1,000
new jobs were posted in the last 30 days.
6. Photoshop: If you know your way around photoshop you could stand to make a portion of the
nearly $200,000 photoshop gurus made on Elance in the last six months. With 782 new jobs posted
in the last month, you'll surely find something to help you pay the bills.
7. Web Content: If you're a freelance writer with a good grasp of writing for the web, you're
in luck. Web content providers took home over $350,000 in the past six months, and this area
is definitely trending upward with over 1,000 new jobs posted last month.
8. WordPress: WordPress developers are in high demand, and it's getting higher. In the last
six months they've earned almost $225,000 on Elance, and this month they have 677 new jobs
to choose from.
9. Flash development: Flash development remains strong in the number nine spot, bringing in
just over $235,000 for the freelancers in this niche. 1,199 new jobs posted last month as
well, so lots of potential there.
10. Content Writing: Elance doesn't seem to track total dollars earned just in content writing,
perhaps because this dark horse is up 11 spots from previous reports. Clearly, it's a hot
niche and savvy freelancers can potentially get in on the ground floor here.
