Making concrete blocks is an easy, and very profitable business opportunity. You can
start at home in your garage and easily make 100 cement blocks per working day using hand molds.
You need very little cash outlay since you can make the molds using plywood and sheet
metal. Portland cement, gravel, sand and water are the ingredients used to make the correct
concrete mix. You fill the molds by hand,take out the blocks and set them out to cure.
Concrete blocks are a staple of the building trades. They are used in building
everything from big buildings to small backyard compost boxes. When you are a cement block
manufacturer you can be sure there will always be a market for your product. They never go
out of favor like a here today and gone tomorrow hula hoop.
The transportation of concrete products is expensive because of their weight and size.
You do not have any transportation costs in selling to local buyers. You can sell to them

and cure your cement blocks. You will also require a concrete block making machine which
is capable of turning out hundreds of blocks per day.
Rented business premises will be necessary to contain the curing racks for your concrete
blocks. You can readily purchase a machine capable of making all the blocks you can sell.
It is an expensive tool however. The less costly method is to build a machine yourself.
From plans which are readily available you can build a very good concrete block machine
from used auto parts,sheet metal and a few bits and pieces. It works every bit as well as
any commercial machine. If you can't do the required welding a welding shop can do it for
you at quite low cost.
