Hi, this is Jared Croslow. In this short video I'm going to share with you the five
ways to make money online.
The first way to make money online is probably one of the easiest methods and it's
called contextual advertising. The way contextual advertising works is you sign
up for something like Google Adsense, you throw a simple piece of code on your website,
and Google will go and analyze the content you've written and will display ads based
on the content. That is what's called contextual advertising.
There are several contextual advertising networks out there. The great thing about
this method to make money online is that it doesn't require a whole lot of work and
you can monetize just about any kind of content you can think of. If you want to write
a website about scrap-booking or whatever your hobby may be, you can monetize that
type of content. In my opinion, contextual advertising is probably the lowest tear
because it's typically the lowest return on investment.
The number two way to make money online, I would call subscriptions. Subscriptions,
in my opinion are the holy grail of making money online. That's because it's the closest
thing you'll ever get to what they consider passive income. I personally think
passive income is somewhat of a myth when it comes to making money online, but you can
get very close to it.
I still think there's always going to be a little bit of work involved with what you
have to do. Subscription based products is anything people will pay recurring to get
access to, either a piece of software, which is called software as a service, or maybe
it's a membership site where your posting new content. Or maybe it's a curriculum where
they pay to get access to a new piece of content that appears every month, but
subscriptions are a great way to make money online.
The next way to make money online is affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing
is a brilliant way to make money online because you don't have to have your own product,
you don't have to deal with the customer, all you're really doing is brokering traffic
and you're getting a commission for sending someone a customer. The way affiliate
marketing works is that you have a relationship with a company and you're basically now
their digital sales person.
As their digital sales person they give you a unique link that every time you send
someone to that link they track the actions that happen on that link. So if someone
purchases something you get rewarded based on the commissions that are part of that
affiliate program. It's very much like getting a sales job, say you're an insurance
sales person for a company, well now you can go out and be a commissioned sales person
for any company in the world just about, using the affiliate programs.
I think that affiliate marketing is essential to have in your make money online portfolio.
You can either position affiliate marketing as the core of your business or as a supplement
to your business. I typically like to have it as a supplement to my business, or as a
way to get into a marketplace or a niche. Then I go in to some other make money online
methods that I'm going to be sharing with you.
