How To Generate Ideas For Your Promotional Videos, Blogs And Articles
By Roger Hurley
Are you a marketing-content creator? Do you need to produce videos, blogs and articles
to promote your or your clients, products and services? Have you ever suffered from
writers block, devoid of ideas and inspiration to get your creative juices flowing? You've
needed to fill your empty computer screen with your next project before the deadline.
Well, traditional advice for curing the dilemma has focused on finding inspirational
headlines and thoughts, be it in magazines, on the TV or in newspapers.
Other strategies involve:
• Clearing your desk;
• Putting on some music;
• Turning off the phone and your email to reduce distractions;
• Going for a walk in the fresh air.
Personally, I have found the best way of finding inspiration is reading, or viewing,
other peoples material for my niche. Im not promoting plagiarism, far from it. I look on
it as picking other peoples brains. Do I agree or disagree with their point of view? Can I
expand on a really valid point and add value to the argument?
Virtually all the content that I create is for marketing purposes. I mainly produce
blogs and videos that have a predetermined objective, usually to generate leads and entry
into a specific sales funnel. I try to produce content that provides solutions to specific
questions or problems.
The Internet has given us the best research tool in the history of the world, so why
not use it? In a flash, you can discover what real people in your exact niche are talking
about. What dilemmas are they trying to overcome? You can easily listen in on their
conversations!
In this four part mini-series, I will help you discover the ways and means of unleashing
the power of the World Wide Web, to explode your marketing campaigns, by creating as many
laser-targeted content ideas that youll ever need!
Lets start by exploring a little of what Google has to offer. In addition to providing
easy access to billions of web pages, Google has many special features to help you to

our purposes of creating content ideas are:
• Adding supplementary search terms to your main keyword;
• Searching by country US, UK, Canada, Australia etc;

You can also search for inspiration on the vertical Google sites: Books, News, Videos,
Blogs, Images and the little known Uncle Sam. One thing Im sure of by improving your
search experience, writers block will no longer exist for you!
