How to Make Quick Money on the Internet

I'm often asked, "how can I make quick money on the Internet". There are a lot of
business opportunity scams that claim you can make quick money on the Internet. But
the only people making money with these scams are the people selling the scams.
Never send money to a business opportunity. If these businesses really made any
money, then why don't they take the startup fee out of your first profits?
There is a type of money making opportunity on the Web called "get paid to". You
can get paid to take surveys, get paid to read email, get paid to visit websites,
or get paid to write. However almost all of these are scams.
Here's how the scam works: In order to get paid, you need to accumulate a certain
minimum amount of earnings, like $25 or $50. As you approach the minimum amount
required to get paid, suddenly the number of emails (or whatever you get for) dries
up. Eventually tens of thousands of members have accumulated almost enough to get
paid. At that point the program closes, without paying anyone, and reopens under
a different name.
There are a few legitimate "get paid to" companies, but it takes a long time to
develop income from these programs. It's doubtful that you will ever achieve
minimum wage with these type of opportunities.
You can start your own business on the Web with little or no investment. You can
sell a product or service. You can sell your own or someone else's product or
service. If you sell someone else's product or service (called an affiliate program),
you make a small commission on each sale. You can make more money selling your own
product or service, but it takes time and work to develop a product or market a service.
Another type of Web business is to be a publisher, blogger, or newsletter writer.
This type of business makes money by selling advertising. In order to sell advertising,
your Web site needs a large amount of traffic, your blog or newsletter needs a large
subscriber list. It takes a long time to develop traffic or a large subscriber list.
Many people are making decent money on auction sites. There are many approaches to
making money with auction sites. Some people spend a lot of time going to garage
sales to find items to sell on auction sites. Some people get paid for helping other
people sell their stuff on auction sites.
It's easy to make quick money selling stuff you have around the house on auction
sites, but you quickly run out of things to sell. There are several ways to earn
good money on auction sites long term, e.g. sell things you make, find good wholesale
sources, or use arbitrage techniques. It takes time to learn how to run a long-term
auction site business. Do not buy one of those "get rich quick on eBay" scams.
Everything you need to know is available in books at the bookstore, library,
or online for free.
One way to make long-term quick money on the Internet is to be a freelancer. If you
have Internet marketable skills, like accounting, graphic design, programming,
translating, or writing, you might be able to quickly earn decent money by listing
your services, and/or bidding on jobs at freelance job sites. Check out sites like
Elance.com and
Guru.com (there are many more). At
these sites you can bid on contract assignments.
