Set Up Your Own Online Store Free at Zazzle
By Stephen Bucaro
Zazzle is a Web site where users can upload images and create their own merchandise like
custom T-shirts, hats, mugs, and many other products. It costs you nothing to create products
and open a store. Zazzle takes care of manufacturing, shipping, and customer service. When
one of your products sells, Zazzle pays you a royalty.
The first thing you need to do is open an account at Zazzle. Click on the Sign in
link at the top of the screen and you'll be taken to a page where you click on the [Register]
button and you'll be taken to a page where you enter your email address and a password. You'll
then need to Validate your email address.
An message will be sent to your email and you validate your email address by clicking
on a link in that message. In my case it took several hours to receive the validate message,
and several hours after I clicked on the link before I received a welcome to Zazzle
message and could login at Zazzle.
Once your account is activated, you can login, click on the Create menu, and in
the drop-down list choose the type of product that you want to create. In my case, I was able
to create a mug design, but I was days before the design was able to be posted, and even then
I wasn't able to do anything with it because I had not yet created a store.
My mug design effort. All those warning icons mean I wasn't having much luck.
After you login you'll see your user name listed where the login link was. I would advise
you to always click on your user name link because that takes you to your My Account
page where everything about your account is listed in a tab-based interface and it's much easier
to understand what you're doing.
After my mug product design was posted, I attempted to open a store. To open a store
you need to enter a store name. Every text that I entered in the Store Name: text box came
back NOT AVAILABLE. If I just breathed on the Store Name: text box it returned the message
NOT AVAILABLE. I attempted to send a message to Zazzle support, but their message box would
not accept my message.
